A guide to creating art just by using dots!

An introduction to pointillism:

It's an artistic approach developed by George Seurat and Paul Signac in the 1800s. It's a painting formed by just dots. This painting, upon looking up close, is just a series of dots but when looked at a distance, a picture is formed. It's similar to pixels on a screen but on paper!

Convenience: It doesn't require a hassle to make, all you need is paper and a marker or paint if you prefer, and start to unleash your inner creativity.

Step-by-step process:

First, you will need to outline an image using a light pencil, you can erase those lines at the end if you wish to.

Then start dotting the image using markers or paint. Use darker colors for shadowing to give it some shade. I prefer to spread the dots and then fill those gaps, later on, It speeds up the process.

Once you're done, you are left with a creative masterpiece to frame, and admire the dedication that you have put into creating this art piece!

No matter how easy this art form sounds it definitely is quite time-consuming. Dotting an image can be pesky and tedious so it does require patience and dedication, but the end result can be rewarding.

George Seurat's painting called 'A Sunday in the park' consisting of about 3 million dots, took 2 years to create! So are you up for a fun challenge?
